Summary:

Baby Proof Emily Griffin A novel that explores the question: Is there ever a deal-breaker when it comes to true love? Claudia Parr has everything going for her. A successful editor at a publishing house in Manhattan, she's also a devoted sister, aunt, and friend. Yet she's never wanted to become a mother--which she discovers is a major hurdle to marriage, something she desperately wants. Then she meets her soul mate Ben who, miraculously, feels the same way about parenthood. The two fall in love and marry, committed to one another and their life of adventure and discovery. All's well until one of them has a change of heart. Someone wants a baby after all. This is the witty, heartfelt story about what happens to the perfect couple when they suddenly want different things and there is no compromise. It's about deciding what is most important in life and wagering everything to get it. And most of all, it's about the things we will--and won't--do for love.

WHERE WE BELONG Marian Caldwell is a thirty-six-year-old television producer living her dream in New York City. With a fulfilling career and picture-perfect relationship, she has convinced everyone, including herself, that her life is just as she wants it to be. But one night, Marian answers a knock on the door . . . only to find Kirby Rose, an eighteen-year-old girl with a key to a past that Marian thought she had locked away forever. As Marian and Kirby embark on a quest to find the one thing missing in their lives, each will come to recognize that where we belong is often where we least expect to find ourselves. A place that we may have willed ourselves to forget, but that the heart remembers forever. HEART OF THE MATTER Tessa Russo is a stay-at-home mother of two young children and the wife of a renowned pediatric surgeon. Valerie Anderson is an attorney and single mother to six-year-old Charlie—a boy who has never known his father. Although both women live in the same Boston suburb, they are strangers to one another and have little in common, aside from a fierce love for their children. But one night, a tragic accident causes their lives to converge in ways no one could have imagined. This is the moving, luminous story of good people caught in untenable circumstances. Each being tested in ways they never thought possible. Each questioning everything they once believed. And each ultimately discovering what truly matters most.

Summary:

Safe, Secure Baby & Toddler: Effectively Baby Proof your Home and Car for the Safety of You & your Child Why is It Important for My Baby to Have a Baby-Proof Home? Parents often feel overprotective especially when it comes to their children. Because of their protective instincts, they often feel scared especially when they are away from the house. They often cannot shake the feeling that their children might be in one form of danger or another while they are away. For parents, the well-being of their children is a 24-hour concern. No matter how much tasks they have to do, they think about their children and their safety. This is not unfounded. Experts believe that kids over the age of 1 and 4 are more likely to be injured because of being overly curious. This heightened curiosity often results in accidental injuries brought about by touching and playing with things they are not supposed to touch or going to places where they are not supposed to. Each year, over 2.3 million children are injured accidentally and a thousand more are killed due to lack of protection. Such statistics can be found in the U.S Center of Disease Control or CDC. Unsupervised children inside or outside the house are not safe. The only way to decrease the possibility of accidents from happening is for moms to baby-proof their homes. Baby-proofing involves several stages that coincide with your baby's age and developmental stage. According to Jean Piaget, a famous Swiss developmental psychologist and psychoanalysts, the first stages of the infant from birth and to 1 year is the child's coordination stages. During birth to 6 weeks, coordination and sensation are developed by the infant. The child learns several primary reflexes, such as sucking, following movements of items, and clenching the hands. During the 4th and 8th months, the infant already becomes object-oriented and he follows repeated actions. The infant follows the actions of everyone inside the house and his secondary circular reactions are developed. At this stage, parents should spend time with their babies and observe whether they are developing as expected. The reflexes and actions that they learn will actually help them deal with some of the risks they encounter in their young lives. This will also be a good time for the parents to observe and take note of any special areas of safety concern that they need to address both at present and a few weeks or months down the road.

He does not hold a degree in psychology or have letters after his name. He gained all his paper qualifications while he was doing the job. For those who think paper qualifications are required, the author does hold a certificate of qualification in social work but does not draw on this for the purposes of this book. The qualification he does have to write this book is experience. He has worked with difficult, maladjusted, those with learning difficulties, as well as so called 'normal' children. In this book, he attempts to pass on that experience to parents in a clear and straightforward manner without the jargon of psychology.

Should you feed your baby whenever she wants or put her on a schedule? Do you impose consequences on children who don't do their homework or clean up their room, or do you help them with chores and homework? Should you respond to the difficult adolescent with tender love or tough love? Parents are faced every day with a multitude of decisions, and they worry about making the right choices. The Smart Love Parent offers a breakthrough method to parenting created and tested by the husband-and-wife team of Dr. Martha Heineman Pieper and Dr. William J. Pieper. The Piepers offer a new understanding of the entire sweep of child development, allowing you to view the process of growing up through your child's eyes. Their patient and caring approach avoids the extremes of permissiveness and of the old reward-and-punishment style of parenting that turns parents into disciplinarians. By offering a relaxed and realistic timetable for your child's development, they identify some previously unrecognized developmental milestones and show you how to help your child reach them through guiding, not punishing. If you understand your child's point of view, you can better know how to love her and how to respond to her actions. The Smart Love Parent helps parents cultivate a child's inner happiness, which is the best means of ensuring your child will grow up well behaved, responsible, self-confident, and able to reach his or her fullest potential.
